Amazon product image requirements

The main image has one job: show the product clearly. Everything else — text, badges, lifestyle shots — belongs on the other six slots. Most rejections come from treating the main image like an ad.

What the other six slots can do

Once past the main image, the rules relax. This is where the selling happens, and most listings waste it on repeated product shots.

SlotBest use
2Scale reference — in hand, next to a familiar object, or with dimensions drawn on
3Material and construction close-up
4In-use / lifestyle, showing the problem it solves
5Comparison or size chart
6What's in the box
7Care instructions or compatibility

Text and graphics are allowed from slot 2 onward. Keep it legible at thumbnail size — most buyers never open the full gallery.

Five reasons images get rejected after upload

#CauseFix
1Background is off-white or has a shadowRe-cut to pure white; check the pixel value, not the preview
2A watermark or logo crept inRemove entirely; do not fade it
3Product too small in frameCrop to ~85% fill
4Below 1000 pxRe-export from the original; upscaling looks soft
5Bundle shows items not includedPhotograph exactly what ships
